We use area rugs in our floors to transform the looks of the area which we usually put them. An area rug pads are also important to any area rugs. This will help keep rugs from slipping and moving from the area where it was lay and it will also help to extend the life of area rugs by preventing the fibers from being crushed. The pad acts as a type of buffer between the hard surface below and the rug above. No matter where you put your rugs, an area rug pads will keep the rug from pulls or slips. This area rug pads also prevent dye transfer, marrying, staining and scratching to the floor or carpeting beneath. An area rug pads add comfort cushion softness to underfoot.

Rug pads are specific to the type of flooring underneath - if you have area rugs, make sure you purchase a area rug pads made specifically for your area rugs. The same goes for hard flooring. Don't use an area rug pads for your rugs for a hardwood floor - they are not made the same and will not give the comfort and protection your floor needs.
